Novática's main features
Novática is the bimonthly journal
and magazine
of ATI (Asociación
de
Técnicos
de
Informática).
Born in 1975, it is the oldest periodical publication amongst
those
specialized in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) existing
today in Spain
(press
here
if you want to read, in Spanish, how it was born).
Novática
is included in a large number of indexes and catalogs of technical and
scientific publications around the world, many of them maintained by
universities, specially in Spain and Latin America. We will mention
only a few: dblp.uni-trier.de (Germany), CIRS (France), Scienceineurope.net,
CINDOC
(Spain), and the most notorious catalog in
Spanish, Latindex
(Mexico).
Novática also publishes UPGRADE,
the European Journal for the Informatics Professional, in English, a
digital publication promoted by CEPIS (Council of
European
Professional Informatics Societies).
ATI is the largest, oldest,
most active and
influential among the associations
of information technology professionals existing in Spain, and is a
founding
member of CEPIS, an
organization with a
global
membership of above 200,000 European informatics professionals.
Founded in 1967, ATI
has 3,500 members and permanent offices in Barcelona (Headquarters),
Madrid, Seville,
Valencia and Zaragoza.
The Editorial Office of Novática
is located in Madrid, as well as its Advertising Dept., while its
Administration
resides in Barcelona. Novatica has also regional editorial offices in
all
the cities mentioned above.

make it unique
among the publications on Information and Communication Technologies
edited
in Spain

Novática has edited 199 regular
issues
(plus several special ones) until September 2009 and enjoys a
consolidated
prestige both in the professional and academic ITC communities in Spain
and Latin America.

Novática also publishes UPGRADE,
the
European Journal for the Informatics
Professional, in English, a digital publication founded in October 2000

organization of which ATI,
publisher of Novática, is a founding member.
Novática is represented in UPGRADE,
as Chief Editor, by its Editor, Llorenç Pagés-Casas,
and
by
Fernando Piera Gómez, 1st Vicepresident of ATI,
as
member of the Editorial Board of UPGRADE.
Novática
is a founding member of UPENET
(UPGRADE European Network) ,
the network of CEPIS
societies' publications. UPENET was created in April
2004.

Introducción
Novática agradece su contribución
desinteresada
a los miles de autores que han elegido y elegirán sus
páginas
para presentar sus aportaciones al avance profesional y
tecnológico
de la Informática.
Periodicidad
Novática tiene periodicidad bimestral y
aparece los
meses de febrero, abril, junio, septiembre, octubre y diciembre,
salvo retrasos debidos a causas de fuerza mayor. El cierre de la
edición
es habitualmente un mes antes de la fecha de distribución (dos
meses
para los artículos del bloque monográfico).
Normas de revisión
Todos los artículos serán sometidos
aun proceso
de "revisión por iguales" (peer review), o
revisión
por personas especializadas en la materia objeto del artículo,
excepto
los expresamente solicitados por Novática a sus autores. En el
caso
de las monografías, serán los editores invitados y su
equipo
los que realicen la revisión y decidan sobre su
publicación
o no.
Excepto en el caso de las
monografías, los
artículos deberán ser enviados a la dirección
electrónica <novatica@ati.es>. Una vez aprobados por el
revisor(es), serán
publicados
tan pronto como sea posible, si bien la publicación no
está
garantizada pues razones de exceso de material pueden hacerla
imposible.
Los autores serán informados del resultado de la revisión
y de la publicación o no de los artículos remitidos.
Tamaño y
formato
de los artículos
Los artículos deberán tener un
máximo
de 4.500 palabras, incluyendo resumen
(máximo 20 líneas),
palabras clave (un
máximo
de 10), tablas y figuras (un máximo de
5), bibliografía y
notas.
Sólo
en casos excepcionales se aceptarán artículos superiores
a dicho tamaño.
Los artículos deberán
incorporar,al principio
del mismo,
título, nombre y dos apellidos y afiliación del autor/a
(es/as), así como
su dirección postal y electrónica, y números de
teléfono
y fax.
El artículo deberá ir en en formato Word, Open Office, RTF o HTML y
habrá de enviarse también en
formato PDF para asegurar la
fidelidad al original en el proceso de edición. La fuente
utilizada deberá ser Times New Roman,
tamaño 12, a doble espacio y es preciso
además
enviar las
figuras por separado, con la mayor resolución posible
(mínimo
600 ppi), teniendo en cuenta que solamente se publicarán en
blanco
y negro.
Nota importante: título,
resumen y palabras clave deberán enviarse en español e
inglés.
Lengua
Aunque Novática admite artículos
escritos en
todas las lenguas reconocidas por la Constitución
española
y los Estatutos de las diferentes Comunidades Autonómas, dado
que
el ámbito de difusión de la revista conlleva su
publicación
en castellano/español, como lengua oficial común,
los
autores deberán presentar sus artículos en
castellano/español
y, si así lo desean, en otra lengua oficial de su
elección.
Novática enviará a los socios y suscriptores que lo
soliciten
una copia de la versión original de aquellos artículos
que
hayan sido escritos en una lengua oficial que no sea el
castellano/español.
Grupo de Lengua e Informática
de ATI en ayuda de los autores
El Grupo de Lengua e
Informática de ATI, una de cuyas áreas de trabajo
trata sobre el uso de la lengua en la Informática, ofrece su
colaboración a aquellos autores de Novática a quienes, a
la hora de redactar sus artículos, les surjan dudas sobre como
trasladar al castellano términos o expresiones procedentes de
otras lenguas, y cuya traducción o adopción no
esté asentada en este dinámico ámbito de la
terminología informática.

Si bien Novática respeta totalmente el
estilo y contenido
de cada artículo, da por supuesta la autorización del
autor
para retocar su ortografía, léxico, sintaxis,
titulación
y paginación, a fin de facilitar su comprensión por el
lector
y de subsanar posibles errores. Cualquier cambio que afecte al
contenido
será consultado con el autor.
